The agro-industrial complex encompassing oilseeds and cereals, including biodiesel and its derivatives, contributed 31.6% to Argentina's total exports last year, according to data from INDEC. The country's primary export product is soybean meal, accounting for 14.2% of the total. Soybean meal is an industrialized by-product generated by this agro-industrial complex, which currently has a high idle capacity of around 50%. The second most exported product last year, according to INDEC, was corn (11%), followed by soybean oil (6.9%) as the third most exported product.
